Last night the Macks Creek Middle School competed in the Skyline Invitational and PCL Conference meet. The PCL Conference meet was run within the Skyline Invitational. 7th and 8th grade were combined into two teams: MS Boys and MS Girls. The Pirates competed hard and had a strong showing with the Middle School boys finishing in 3rd place in the Conference and the Middle School girls finishing in 1st place as the PCL Conference Champions!
Individually, The Pirates walked away with 10 All-Conference performances and 5 All-Conference Athletes. Brooklyn Duggan was All-Conference with 1st place finishes in the 100 meter hurdles, 400 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and the high jump. Bailey Hash was All-Conference with a 1st place finish in the long jump and 2nd place finishes in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. Nick Hicks was All-Conference with a 1st place finish in the high jump. Hudson Lane was All-Conference with a 2nd place finish in the Shot Put. Kevin Bowman was All-Conference with a 2nd place finish in the 1600 meter run.
Several others contributed to the overall team success with top 6 finishes in their events. Bailey Hash also took 3rd overall in the 400. Nick Hicks also took 3rd in the 200 meter dash and 4th in the 400 meter dash and long jump. Hudson Lane also took 3rd overall in the discus. Kevin Bowman also took 4th in the 800 meter run. Reanna Cameron was 3rd in the 1600 meter run and triple jump, and 4th in the 800 meter run. Brooklyn Green was 4th in the triple jump, 5th in the 1600 meter run, and 6th in the 800 meter run. Sean Green was 4th overall in the shot put. And Preston Langley was 4th in the 1600 meter run and 5th in the 800 meter run. There were also several personal best performances.
"I was very proud of our team last night. They all competed hard and laid it all out on the track," said coach Knutter. "A PCL Championship is not an easy accomplishment and everyone played a role. 5 all conference athletes is another huge accomplishment. Great team effort."
The Pirates also had a strong showing in the Skyline Invitational with the 7th grade girls finishing 3rd overall in the meet.
