The MC Pirates Cross Country Team traveled to Plato, MO today for the Class 1 District 2 Meet. Everyone had a great time racing. Each year, the top 30 runners at each of the four districts in Missouri advance to the State Competition held at MU's Gans Creek Course in Columbia, MO. After the meet, the team celebrated a fun season together and took time to honor four senior XC runners.
Lady Pirate, senior Addison Ratliff has run XC all 4 years of high school qualifying for State each year. Addie earned all State her freshman year and with her 28th place finish today is excited to return to Gans Creek for one last XC race. Well done and congratulations Addie!

Senior Chase Christian joined the team after fall baseball concluded and made a great deal of progress in a month's time. This season marked Chase's single year of XC. He took advantage of the opportunity to get into shape and is looking foward to playing baseball this spring. Chase also enjoyed the opportunity to run with his little brother Parker who is a freshman this year.

Senior Sean Green, like Chase, joined the team this year after fall baseball concluded. Sean ran XC during his sophomore year and enjoys competing to stay in shape. Sean enjoyed competing this year with his classmates Chase and Vaughn and is also looking foward to baseball this spring.

Senior Vaughn Vasquez enjoyed XC 3 seasons during his high school career. Vaughn qualified for State his freshman year, helping the Pirates take 4th place at districts that year to send an entire team to Columbia. He qualified as an individual his sophomore year for his second trip to State. Vaughn enjoyed his senior year competing with his classmates and is also looking foward to baseball season this Spring.

Lady Pirates Jade Stasiak and Bailey Allan both ran well today and finished their seasons strong. Pirate Parker Christian also ran well today. Parker posted the fastest time of his career earning a PR of 22:01 at Districts today. Jade, Bailey and Parker are looking foward to next season.
Coach Ratliff shared she has enjoyed coaching the team this year! She is proud of her group of 6 athletes who pushed hard at each meet and made the season a lot of fun. She is excited to take Addie to State. Good luck at State Addie!
