Today friends from Capital Material and Quarry came to visit with the fourth graders during their science lesson. The fourth graders have been studying natural changes in land formations in class. Today they learned how man made changes can have the same effect. They showed the fourth graders how rock we use on our driveways and to make asphalt goes from the side of a mountain, through the plant, and out the other side as usable material. On Monday, Oct. 14, fourth grade students will travel to see the quarry in real life. While there, students will see all the machinery used, and even have the chance to hunt for fossils! Their homework before the trip is to find out what Missouri's state fossil is and what kind of organism it is. #MCPirates
